I can't call this greedy.. Who wouldn't trade these items for 100K? But I can't unserstand this was tempting in the first place.. Isn't this a bit predictable?

Some people fall for junk mail. Scammers are junk mail. Simple as that.

Jesus, he isn't stupid and he didn't deserve it. Surely, he is a much more trustworthy person than most of us, so he was going on what he believed was a player being generous. I'm sure we've all taken up all sorts of generous offers and never thought about the consequences.
And the fact that its very core-element was something fun and addicting (and that other people were participating, that makes it seem very legit) makes it all the more hard to resist. He was simply doing something for someone for a thankful prize.
I don't normally trust people, so whenever I'm trading something, my mouse cursor stays over Cancel until I see that everything is correct and accounted for. Countless times I've cancelled trades because people place down only one of a respective item when I asked them for multiples.
But...yeah, whatever the hell I do doesn't matter. He was just being trustworthy...give him a break.

Hey, don't go all nice now, you know we're right
You shouldn't trust people that are saying such things, you can see something like this comming. And actually, I'm pretty damn sure most people here would do exactly the same if they got the chance.
I'm not that low that I do because I think people I screw are to dumb to have those items, it's just that it's so noobish, you shouldn't have those items if you don't know how to work with them. And I don't need any money

I believe the correct term is 'trusting'. Yes, it's fun to correct people, now quiet, fruitcake!

Hehe, i guess it's kind of your fault for wanting the 100k gold =P But one thing, if the stakes are usually that high... i would highly doubt it, hehe
Learn from your experiences, don't worry about the 20k, you'll get it in time (although i can only dream about that much gold at the moment *drool*)

Others were participating. Yup, so I wasn't gauranteed the 100k. Exactly why I had some reason to continue on playing, and why it was so addicting.

LOL if everyone is like this in mmorpg's no wonder no one trusted me when i was playing eve-online and told ppl i would share my mining's with them 50/50 when i mined 90% of all the ore.
Damnit people, it's this attitude of "nobody's gonna do anything nice to me" attitude that crippling the community. granted its also due to the "once bitten, twice shy" theory. but come on, when i offered to share it was because i was bored, and wanted someone to mine with. if anyone here has played eve, you'll know those mining lasers get mighty annoying after a while.
thanks to jon for informing us all about these sorts of scams, dont worry buddy, i feel for ya.

In real life whould you enter a scavenger hunt, or contest, without knowing the rules and requirements beforehand. I hope not. And in a game world the same policy should apply or it is no surprise that the contest won't deliver the goods.
